K with his brother Martin Church on 17 Sep 1862; listed as deserted 15 Apr 1863 at Hamilton’s Crossing, Va.; reportedly found guilty and sentenced to be shot, but Court ruled the sentence illegal and he was returned to duty 30 Apr 1864;  captured at Amelia C.H., VA on 6 Apr 1865 and sent to Point Lookout, then released 24 June 1865 at City Point, Va.
