Lookout, MD union prison on 18 Oct 1863; took oath and was paroled 26 Jan 1864; His parole forced him to serve as a Private in the service of the U.S. army, 1st Regiment, Co. C from 26 Jun 1864 to 27 Mar 1865. This unit was not used in combat and most likely served out West.
