D on 26 Oct 1861; captured at Champion Hill, at Black River Bridge, near Vicksburg on 17 May 1863 and sent to Memphis on 25 May 1863; sent to Camp Morton, IND on 22 Jun 1863, then to Fort Delaware union prison; transferred to Point Lookout, MD on 29 Sep 1863; exchanged 25 Dec 1863 at Point Lookout prison; there is NFR and it looks like his injuries enabled his release.

Survived War:  Yes

Cemetery / Burial:  Coryell, Brown Co., TX is identified as place of death by pension filed by his son Samual Madison Edmiston in 1914, but likely buried in Crosby Cemetery, Mason Co., TX

Soldier Info: Born in Washington, Co., AR in 1844; Died in Coryell, Brown Co., TX in 1890; his son filed pension which was approved in 1914.  He married Nancy Lewis in Sep 1864, so he was likely discharged from the Army by that point.
