Service Record:   Enlisted in Co. E of the 5th VA at Staunton, VA 19 Mar 1862; discharged by the medical board 20 Apr 1862; Joined up with the 50th VA Infantry (Co. E) (date sometime after 1863); captured with the regiment at Waynesboro, Va. 2 Mar 1865; sent to Ft. Delaware and died of small pox 21 Jun 1865; on 21 Nov 1866 his Uncle requested his remains from the union cemetery at Ft. Delaware. It is unclear if the commander complied. Whether he did or not, there is still a marker for him at Finn’s Point (see below).
