D on 7 Feb 1863 at Marion, VA; wounded in action (arm) at Gettysburg on 3 Jul 1863 and sent to Gen Hosp; sent home to recover after long stay; by Dec 1864 he was still at home. It is possible his arm was amputated. Never was able to return to service. After the war he never married. Listed in census as a farmer. Died in Locust Cove at age 36 when he was kicked by a horse.
