Soldier Info:   Born in Ashe Co., NC in 1840; Died in Smythe Co., VA in 1923; Pension approved after the war in Apr 1913. The family describes him affectionately as “Chief of the Whitetop Indians”. Appointed U.S. Postmaster in Weasel, NC after the war.
