Service Record: Enlisted in Co. A on 10 Aug 1861; Absent home May-Dec 1862. Returned to duty. Wounded in action right thigh and taken POW at Chancellorsville on 3 May 1863 and gunshot wound to leg; sent to Lincoln Hosp 7 May and operated on with mini ball removed from right thigh., then Old Capitol hospital 4 to 10 June 1863; exchanged at City Point, Va 12 Jun 1863; In hospital with Typhoid Fever 3 Aug to 9 Sep 1863 and returned to duty 30 Apr 1864, but back at Winder Hosp Richmond 9 May 1864 to June 1864; Taken POW in a Richmond Hosp. 3 Apr 1865 due to wounds; Sent to Newport News and held til released on oath 30 June 1865
