D on 30 Jan 1863; captured at Strasburg, VA on 19 Oct 1864; sent to Harpers Ferry, then on to Ft. Delaware prison arriving on 27 Oct 1864; released 17 June 1865 after taking oath at Ft. Delaware prison and sent home to Grayson Co., VA; description on union prisoner record says he was 5’11” tall, blue eyes, ruddy complexion, dark hair.
